I wasn’t sure what to expect but I really enjoyed Shadrach. Set in the early 1900’s during the depression it is a story about a well-off young boy wo stays with his best friend who is very poor. The family is the descendents of a family who owned a slave plantation.
Suddenly a 99-year-old black man who was once a slave on the plantation shows up wishing to be buried on the grounds with his family.
I liked this movie mostly because it made me think about my own future. I sure hope I don’t live to be 99 because there will be nobody there to be with me. I guess I’ll have to the same thing and go find somebody to die on.
I’m not afraid of death even now. Like the man said in the movie, “Death ain’t much.”
